I don't know if you remember me talking about the cactus fries I had while in Sedona, but I tried recreating those today.

My dad bought 4 prickly-pear cactus flats, already prepped (all the spines were removed). We're going to be experimenting with different types of batter (and what we put in it), before we get to the exact taste we're looking for. The tempura mix that we bought today didn't taste right - not much flavor.

With ranch, or Slap Ya Mama seasoning, they were good.

But next time we'll try different batter ingredients.

In the last few months... some of my favorite people have been coming at me with, "Hey, add me on Facebook, Tiff!" I would then tell them that I didn't have one. They'd be shocked, and would also ask why. I didn't see the point of having one seeing as I have a myspace.

So, I made one the other day just to see what all the hype was about. :| I don't get it. It looks so empty and boring. I don't like it. The initial thoughts that I had about the site didn't change. In fact, I haven't been to my Facebook since that day, and plan on deleting it.

With that said, all those that have migrated to FB, go back to Myspace. It does everything that any other networking site does, but better (even though I'm not on every site).

... that's all I have to say about that.

Never again, Hint.

What's up with SOME with pear-flavored products tasting like bananas though? It's strangely disgusting, considering how much I enjoy eating pears... not bananas pretending to be pears. :|

Let me tell you about another pear=banana situation. My mom had bought these pear-flavored pudding cups (I forgot who made them), because she thought they were interesting and they were on sale. I was hesitant to try them, because when I think pudding... I think delicious Snack Pack chocolate or chocolate/vanilla pudding. Mmm, but pear pudding? I don't know.
The Michael Jackson Memorial was great. I watched the whole thing on MTV live.

You know what? When I first heard he passed, I didn’t cry. I was sad and shocked, but no crying. Days after, I didn’t shed any tears. However, throughout the memorial today, I did. It was more emotional for me than I thought it’d be. I think it’s just now settling in, and it has become real. There were speeches and words that touched me (ex: Brooke Shields and Paris Jackson - oh man, I cried when she wanted to speak about her dad), the performances were all well done, and the emotion and presence of the people there was genuine.

I’m not going to lie, I was half-way hoping that he’d pop out of the casket, with a big smile on his face like, “Just kidding!” And the whole thing would’ve been a hoax (a cruel one), but he would’ve still been here. :\ -Shrug.

Rest In Peace, MJ. Any of you on any of those and we're not friends and would like to be? It's whatever, just thought I'd throw that out there.

How have you all been though?
Well, I hope. :]

Okay, bye.

* It sounds like Get'er'done Holly, or Holland, or something that sounds like the both of those.
Swine Flu (possible pandemic)

GENEVA – An outbreak of swine flu in Mexico and the United States is a quickly evolving situation that has "pandemic potential," the head of the World Health Organization said Saturday before an emergency meeting of flu experts.

WHO Director-General Margaret Chan said the North American outbreak of a never-before-seen virus was a very serious situation.

She called Saturday's emergency meeting to consider declaring an international public health emergency over the outbreak, which is believed to have killed dozens of people in Mexico and sickened at least eight in the U.S.

The experts are also expected to recommend whether WHO should raise its pandemic alert to a higher level.

At least 62 people have died from severe pneumonia caused by a flu-like illness in Mexico, according to WHO. Some of those who died are confirmed to have a unique version of the A/H1N1 flu virus that is a combination of bird, pig and human viruses.

Mexico has closed schools, museums, libraries and theaters in a bid to contain the outbreak, which may have sickened about 1,000 people there.

"The situation is evolving quickly," Chan said at a telephone news conference in Geneva. "A new disease is by definition poorly understood.

"In the assessment of WHO, this is a serious situation which must be watched very closely."

"This is an animal strain of the H1N1 virus, and it has pandemic potential because it is infecting people," Chan said.

"However, we cannot say, on the basis of currently available laboratory, epidemiological and clinical evidence, whether or not it will indeed cause a pandemic," she added.

It is the first time Chan has convened such a crisis panel since the procedure was created almost two years ago, spokesman Gregory Hartl said.

The committee may decide Saturday that the outbreak constitutes a public health emergency, and if so, whether WHO should consider measures including travel advisories, trade restrictions and border closures.

The global body's flu pandemic alert level is now set to phase three — meaning there is no or very limited risk of a new virus spreading from human to human.

The committee "will be asked, 'should we raise the alert level to phase four or phase five,' depending on their appreciation of how far the virus has spread," Hartl said.

An increased alert level was considered likely, as initial evidence from the outbreak in Mexico indicates the virus has spread between people. Hartl said, however, that a decision would not be made Saturday.

SOURCE: Here

:| :| :| :| Possible pandemic. I was scared of the bird flu (although it never really came to the states). Now Mexico has the swine flu, and a few people here (states) have gotten it. California and Texas. My state (Arizona) is BOUND to get it. GAHHHH! I'm gonna have to start wearing masks wherever I go, once I find out there's one sickness or death here. Haha, I'm so serious. But hey, maybe this will open up jobs in a hospital for me.

Bad situation at 3am

At 2:45am, I was startled by some really loud banging on our front door. It was the type of banging that had me kind of scared as to who was on the other side doing it. I heard my brother talking to my mom outside of my door, so I was just thinking it was one of his friends. I rolled over, and two minutes later... I heard the same damn banging. ?!?! I heard a bunch of yelling and screaming next. What the fuck is going on?! I got up and walked to the front door. I saw CR (my next-door neighbor, who's in his late 50s / early 60s, in his robe) standing infront of Tony (my brother's friend), just yelling and cursing at him. My brother is at the side, trying to calm the situation and apologizing... because hey, it's 3am. CR didn't get any quieter, if anything, he got much louder, and proceeded to get in Tony's face. He was calling Tony names, so Tony started yelling back. Instinct. CR kept screaming that next time he was going to call the cops. Ahhhhh. BAD SITUATION. My dog was out there, so I had to grab him and hold him in. Oh yeah, my mom was out there too, talking calmly and apologizing constantly to try to end what was happening at 3am. She had to get between CR and Tony a few times, because if she didn't... I'm positive that fists would've been swung. CR's wife came to our house to pull CR away, and that was that. He yelled all the way to his house.

So my brother and Tony came in to explain their side of the story to us. Apparently one of Kara's guy friends were parked outside their house... being loud. Troy and Tony pulled up, informed Kara's friend that his lights were still on. Blah, blah, blah... Kara's friend left. Troy and Tony were smoking outside when CR came out and started yelling at them for being loud. Troy tried telling CR that it wasn't them, but he was sorry that he was woken up.

I think that is real, but I believe he and his friends were also loud. Because when my brother came home 20 minutes prior to that situation... he had 4 of his loud friends in our house. My mom woke up, told them to be quiet and leave... so they left. Ten minutes later, the above happened. I think it was both them and whoever Kara had over. Hmmm.

So Tony leaves, and my dad is FURIOUS. I went back in my room to lay down, but I can clearly hear my dad yelling at my brother. No matter what my brother did, I always feel really bad/sad for him when he's getting yelled at. :| Probably because it always goes further than it needs to.

PS: My brother is 21.
